At the other end of the scale from my familys shoe box room , ive been working on a 16 bedroom house worth £3 million , dont even know how many bathrooms its got lost count :D I know its got 126 windows coz ive had to paint them all :( the kitchen they put in cost the same as my whole house 120k , its got a gym , pool , cinema room insane thing is three people live in it , a couple with one kid (oh and a dog) , these people aren't even smiling on a daily basis even with all that (plus they dont seem to have jobs just walk around the grounds all day shouting at builders :D)

40gs = 4x10gs. If my calculation is right, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 living room, and 1 kitchen/dining room combo for 40gs, so 10gs a room, right? Unless you're a do-all one man crew, just to get a plan and a permit would cost you a few gs easily...

Haha, the college kids and high schoolers have made the most outrageous comments on the thread. They have no idea what theyre getting into once real life kicks in. Easy to dream when youve never supported yourself

Your paying for the lot and the land too there man, it took me and my uncles 4,000 and a month to make a 30x30 foot addition w/ a gable roof.

I live in a 24sqm flat roughly (apparently it's 250 sqft???) . It's about 10m long at its longest and 3m wide at its widest (but about 1.5m wide mostly). It costs me £90 a week including bills... I somehow do have a 160l tank, full ergonomic desk and chair, freezer, three chest of drawers etc but it isn't exactly spacious... saying that though, I love my flat for one very good reason: it takes an hour to fully spring clean. I'll try and get some photos though later..

If you ARE debt free, that kind of money isn't THAT hard to come up with. Even on a blue collar paycheck.

GETTING debt free is the hard part though.
