There's a real stunner! Nice job, man. Palaminos taste terrible anyway IMO, good release.Had a decent trout opening weekend in SEPA. Had a rough start Saturday morning (way too hungover to function) and got to the creek around 8:45AM. Found out the creek has a ton more snags then last year and was loosing gear left and right and finally left around noonish after only catching 3 fish to sleep and eat. Got back out around 3:30ish and started fishing different sections and started picking fish up more constantly. Finished the day with 10 fish I really had to work for and lost a ton of gear. Yesterday I went to a few different places for Brookies in Berks county but the creeks didn't look good at all and made a decision to go closer to home. This paid off ended my day at that creek with close to 30 fish. Came home ate dinner and went to the same creek as Saturday for the late afternoon bite. Started catching them in places that didn't produce Saturday that I knew held fish and caught close to 10 with a few smallmouth thrown in. Then the last fish of the day was the 20" palamino. Put up a great fight and released it to live for a few more days

Opening day is only ONE day, why not just do it ALL?Great catch man, I swear Palominos always swim the opposite direction of me on opening day, maybe they should stock all Palominos one time, I can see the crowd following that truck!
Still debating where to go for opening day myself. I could go fight the crowds at the creek like tradition and catch 7-20" pellet heads or head north with the cruiser away from people and troll for Lakers and Steelhead. Sounds like an easy choice, but not when tradition is a big deal to you haha.

Update: Went out Monday morning for about 4 hours or so, ended up going 4 for 6 on Trout - 2 Browns and 2 Rainbows, a mess of Rockbass, and 2 Bluegills, plus I got a good 13-14" LMB to snatch-up a trout-minnow on a #12 hook.....needless to say it was to heavy to lift out of the water the 10' up onto the foot-bridge w/ such a small hook-hold and it dropped off when I got it a few feet out of water, but that's what we call a "Quick-release" around here lol. White/Redhorse Suckers were hitting already too and saw numerous SMBs swimming around w/ the polarized shades. Was really surprised to see LMB in the Manatawny creek, never even SEEN one much less caught one there, but lotsa of nice Smallies over the years. Ended up seeing a friend from last year trying for a quick trout for lunch before the rain came so I ended up giving him my 2 Rainbows since it came early, then I ended up cleaning the Browns and giving them to my neighbor cuz I just didn't feel like opening the garage and freezer - I hadn't slept much since Thursday, so I was long overdue for a nap ............like the 12 hour one I just woke up from.
I'll be doing it all over again today in a new place, new body of water. Only thing I like about living around here is we have close to a DOZEN stocked trout waters or more, plus several other creeks, lakes and rivers within a 20 minute drive. Tons of rodeos and tourneys too, so LOTS of nice husky trout stocked in the 20-30" range too. You guys ready to roll with me K krichardsonfatboy8 ??
