What's the best way to get a pvc or hose out the window without letting in too much air? I'd like to leave it setup permanently for spring, summer, and fall

Drill the window and attach PVC pipe. Why not just open and close it that's what I do. Takes 10 seconds lol

I had it set up to open a valve, and let gravity send water out a door to my back yard.
PVC was laid along walls permanently around the room to a ball valve and union near the door. PVC was also set up in the yard, so just before I did a water change, I would connect the union joining out side and inside, and open the valve. I could send 200 - 500 gallons out he door in minutes, old water that would normally flow to the sump, but instead, it went to my garden.
I also had a permanent set of PVC along the ceiling to send water back to the sumps, with a gang valve to control which sump it went to.

Even with 1500 gallons in tanks, 30% water changes only took a few minutes to send water to the garden, and add new water to sump/tanks.

Here's a pic of the set up I use to do a water change on our tanks, when it's not "substrate cleaning day." The pump is a Lifegard Aquatics Quiet One Pro Series 5000 connected to a drinking water safe garden hose. The hose is 50 feet long and is clamped onto the side of the utility sink in the unfinished part of our basement. I use Aqueon's "python" style system to refill the tanks.

Here's a link to the hose that I use. The only negative I would say about it is, it isn't as flexible as a regular garden hose. So, it's a little more work for me to get the hose recoiled up by hand. But, I feel that's a minor inconvenience.

I went with this hose because of the 3/4" diameter and enables me to drain my tanks faster than the normal 1/2" or 3/8" hoses.
