What do you guys think about Northfin? I know it may not be the most readily available food on the market but it's been out a while and don't hear much about it, except when i do it's all good for Northfin. I myself have been using Northfin for awhile after moving from Hikarii and I can say colors and growth have been positive results from it. Now i have not used NLS alone as a diet so I can't compare the two there, but i have recently started complementing pellets with NLS flakes which my fish also enjoy.

I tried northfin with my midevil and noticed that his color faded out and he started pooping more.
I use it more as a treat now.

I have found that Northfin works well for picky eaters like tanganyikian rift lake cichlids

Thanks for your experience. I was wondering about this food. What do you feed ehh? Even though you put a spell on me!

So far, in terms of over all color and waste production, I've been most happy with paradigm.
I've tried northfin, omega one and nls and I'll stick with paradigm. The bag has a lot of tiny crumbs at the bottom but I have barbs that don't mind eating it up.

I have fed NF exclusively in several tanks, to numerous species, including an adult A citrinellus, all were fed NLS for a number of years exclusively prior to that. All of the various test subjects color remained intact after the change in diet. They looked amazing before, and they looked just as amazing after. No change in color. IMO both foods are currently the best dry foods on the market, hands down.

FYI - fish such as midevils carry a fader gene, that can activate at various stages in the fishes growth. Even a mood swing can cause an amph to shift in color. Pretty sure that's all you were seeing ehh, it wasn't the food.

Maybe.
Maybe he just likes the paradigm more then.
I just feel like I've seen better overall results with paradigm. More color, less waste.

Fair enough, everyone's experience with food and fish, can certainly vary. And IME over the years, some people see what they want to see.

Personally I would never feed Paradigm to any of my fish. Not even as a test, just not interested in their junk science on fiber etc. A quick search of my ID and that food should explain why. lol

I've read what you had to say. And have read papers you've posted on what you have to say.

I'm simply stating my experience with the food in comparison to what I've experienced with other foods.

I don't plan on buying another bag of paradigm because I don't like the consistancy. Not sure why I'd see what I want to see when I've been looking to replace paradigm lol. But whatevzzzzz.

I was speaking in general, when I said "over the years". I've been doing this awhile now. :)
