I also prefer to keep a few larger tanks rather than many smaller though so I can see the other side.
I would probably just get a 75 gal. Get length and the width. I know that's not the question, but if I'm trying to decide between a 55 or 40 I would end up buying a 75.
Nope.......hypothetically, you only have 2 stands and 2 spaces, one of them is 36"X18" and the other is 48"X12".I'm just saying if I know I have enough space for the length of a 55 and the width of a 40, because thats the choices. I put it together and have a 75.
Again the 12" width being useless for 90% of fish is apparently irrelevant to this question as I have been told. The fish is apparently irrelevant in this question. We are to assume a fish that can comfortably live in both tanksI prefer 40 breeder over 55....
They should of made the 55s ...48x18x15
A 21 inch height and only a 12 inch width is useless for 90% of fish
It most definitely is more swimming room.Probably 55 then. Just seems like more swimming room to me.
2 of the same fish, 6" long as adults. Which tank?Again the 12" width being useless for 90% of fish is apparently irrelevant to this question as I have been told. The fish is apparently irrelevant in this question. We are to assume a fish that can comfortably live in both tanks
Assuming the fish will use all levels of the tank equally, the 55 gallon. It's more room to move around and while it's only 15 gallons that's but thats, like, 40% the total volume of the 40 gallon.2 of the same fish, 6" long as adults. Which tank?
we did have a comment about the 40BR actually being 47 or 48 gallons, while the 30BR is around 35g, so you have a little more to play with than the manufacturer labels them. U might have to go back a page or 2 to find the posts about itAssuming the fish will use all levels of the tank equally, the 55 gallon.
