New 65G tank stocked need opinions!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
And I know everyone is saying the tank is too small for an Oscar but it's what I could afford and I do plan on moving up to a 90g or possibly a 120g in the next year or so but right now it's the best I can do. if I can't afford a bigger tank by the time he outgrows this one then I'll either set him up for adoption or look into other solutions when the time comes.

I need to clarify I don't own any silver dollars the only thing in this tank was a 4 inch Oscar and two angels
Those are just my thoughts on how they should be kept. I prefer footprint concerns over bioload. You can do more water changes but you cant take your fish on a walk

Look the Oscar could be in worse hands, your on here and looking for advice and listening so that's great. Keep a close on on the local classifieds and worse case just get something large that holds water until the right tank comes along. Remember to do as much water as you can every water change, right down to fin level. Hole in the head disease is so prominent on Oscars so keep that water pristine.
Any pics of him and the setup? You have about 6 months before he will be ten inch and pushing the limits of a 65, I've had a 14 inch Oscar and butti at 14+inch they both used every inch of my 300 gallon tank, could always look at doing a plywood build and going big? If you or any family are good with your hands...

Update: me and my dad just got finished resealing the 65g Going to let it set up for about 72 hours and refil it for a leak check, hopefully I can have this Oscar back in his home by Sunday and out of his current living situation which is a 10g that I had to purchase from Walmart to house him until I can get this mess fixed
