Ecuadorian "Green Terror" Group

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
that's not what I said. I said gold saum will show white or silver and then change.

change from what though? It sounds like you're generalizing, not all will change over time. Many will stay the same or even become more bold depending on the parents, not all fade from one to the other as they mature. I'm sorry but it feels like we are talking about two different topics o_O lol

Here's mine. Not sure what it is, but its tail is white/silver. He/she is roughly 3-4"

If I had to guess, I'd be willing to bet it maintained the white band on it's tail fin throughout adulthood. I also see the orange'sh hue on the dorsal fin, it will be interesting to watch your Riv mature :D

Yes, he/she is going to be pretty when all grown up.

Just looked closer, fins are getting the orangish hue to them

But that's not completely true lol
Golds are born gold/yellow/orange and as they mature the coloring in their fins will darken in to a much more bold orange or red/orange, I haven't seen too many adult Rivs maintain their yellow fins as they mature - usually changes to more of an orange hue.
White/silvers, depending on genes and lineage, will either become a more bold and vibrant white/silver - or will fade to a duller orange or red/orange hue...

T terrorG i'll try and snap some more photos of mine when I get home. I just rescaped the tank and got rid of one of my whites. Gave her to a buddy who can probably give her more attention for medication in a QT - she can't seem to shake the IPs that the rest of them had and I think she's the source

correct, it all comes down to genetics :D
and they are hard to come by, but i'll keep my eyes open for you! did you ever contact Aquascapeonline to see if they could ship to you overseas? I believe they still have some White Saums in stock...

Very nice.I like the rock and twig placements.
Putting a black background on will make a huge difference.
One thing I would suggest is to try and hide your heater behind a branch or some rocks.Other than that it's a really nice scape and the fish are looking fantastic.
Nice job,Looks really good.
