I agree that the lap would be awesome! I don't know if your albino Senegal will grow big enough to live permanently with that fish though. Maybe others can chime in. I feel like albinos are the ones I read about staying the smallest out of all Polys.

The Fish Gallery in Dallas TX I called them and this is their stats oh they also had another one I wasn't origonally considering

Polypterus palmas palmas I think he said it was 8" or 10" and $59
polypterus ansorgii this one was 6"-7" and $139
polypterus lapradei 'guinea' this one was 10" and $139

Pretty lucky if this LFS is close to you in terms of getting Polys. It would be fantastic if to have something like this available in your area. I would just walk in and get me a Guinea Lap, and submit a special request for several rare polys. Keep us posted.

Yeah that would be a concern. I think magpie is right, senegals are probably the smallest poly, and the albinos stay even smaller. So in the long run it may not work out, but I've never had full grown polys, so I can't say for sure

yeah I was thinking the lap was out

Yes I'm very lucky it's only 5.4 miles from my house

a lap and an ansorgii! what a cool find! I also agree with what magpie magpie and ShanerBock888 ShanerBock888 are saying about the albino senegal potentially being too small long term with the other fish. Might be okay though.@Hao was able to keep an albino with Godzilla for a long time. Just make sure everyone's fed ;)

if you have a fire eel, those get about the same size as the lower jaws you are considering. So that could be a possibility. Not sure how compatibility is though. I don't know much about them.

if they haven't sent me pictures in the morning I'll probably head up there and snap some pics
