Really happy you got them to eat before the weekend!

It will get easier. For mine that were picky on pellets, I soaked them first in thawing bloodworms and then fed the pellets. I also cut the pellets up because massivore are really large. Even might cut up carnivore. I found that if the bites were smaller they'd more likely swallow than spit back out until they got used to it.

I also personally prefer soaking pellets anyway - just a few drops of tank water on each pellet for a couple of minutes helps (after I don't need to do the bloodworm trick anymore). I think they're easier for them to swallow them without issue. But again, I am a bit paranoid d/t my Senegal experience.

These are characins indeed. Do well with upper and lower jaw polys. As long nothing to perch on and pick off the hujetas. I've had them in groups. Do well together. Won't be too hard to break off of live food Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 .
kno4te kno4te i forgot to asked yesterday, you mentioned about waiting for them to hit 5"? So do i still feed them live till they hit 5" them break them out of live feeders?

I'm relieved as well. I'll try pellets next week. I need to get the chocolate and severums off of bloodworms only so the whole tank will be getting pellets on top of the filets and bloowworms. I'm going to try my hikari gold cichlid pellets. I have some minis that might work for everyone.

jwd jwd feed only once a day, since the first tilapia you put are alittle big, now you know to cut it smaller, i leave the tilapia in the tank for 30-45 mins. Should be plenty of time for them to eat, after that take it out so it wont foul the water.

I had it in for around 30 minutes or so and took it out. I'll stick to that. I need to make a feeding schedule. MWF tilapia and Tues/Thurs pellets or bloodworms. How does that sound.

If they are eating the tilapia and pellets you could probably just skip the blood worms. They really arent that nutritional. Swap that with some live worms

I've always wondered where to get live worms. My first thought is bait shops. Are those okay? They'd have to be pretty small for these little guys I have.
