New To Plants, Let M Know What You Think.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^ they look happy enough, keep us updated as the tank matures...

Increase Co2, more circulation and reduce the time lights are on. I went through the same problem at the beginning when trying to get everything to grow rapidly. I occasionally spot treat some GSA on my anubias and hair algae on moss with hydrogen peroxide...no harm to plants & livestock. Also, regular water changes will help.

can I ask you what "GSA" is?

My plants are growing good, but with my new bulbs I'm starting to get some algae growth. Anything that can help? Lights are on for about 12 hours a day.

I would go with a total 8 hour photo period, 4 hrs on, 2 hours off, 4 hours on again... that should help disrupt the alges chance of growing as rapidly...

Also as mentioned you could up your Co2 if you are using a pressurized system, or if you using Excel, you could buy a syringe, and dose directly over effected plants (that arent too sensitive) to help keep the algae at bay during water changes...
