tank almost crashed.. please advices!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Seems getting better.. especially my IT dats.. they were like totally black, now they slowly regain their yellow color.. when they see me get close to the tank i can see they are really beggin for food.. no kiddin it is now the 3rd day ive not given them a single meal.

Just another 30min, ph still at 5.9.. i think as expected. The 1st one hour the ph went from 5.5 to 5.7 because thr water was way too acidic so thr crushed coral released alot of whatever they released to stabilize the ph.. but as time goes by and ph goes up slowly, they corals are releasing less of w/e is that.. if my understanding is correct.

I will keep u updataed with the ph for the next several hours.. thanks a lot everyone who helped :)

My plan is to feed them once my seachem prime and stability arrived, so incase there is unexpected spike of ammonia i can temporarily handle it with the conditioners

I like how the ph gradually rises slowly using the coral additive.

Hello; are you doing the smaller and more frequent water changes? When did you do the most recent WC?

No wc yet..prime n stability haven't arrived yet
Hello; You lost me again. You use well water. Most well water does not have treatment chemicals such as chlorine or chloramine in the water.

I had a well at one home years ago. I used the water straight from the well into my tanks with no treatment. I also drank the well water. I know there are folks who use the Prime in well water but if the well water is good water I do not see why. If you have bad well water then I doubt the Prime will fix it.

I am now on "city" water with chlorine only. I have to store my tank water for days in containers or use Prime. I would like to have a good well again.
