Argh I love puffers!
Are you keeping them in brackish or full marine? Are there just two in there? Do you have to manually maintain their teeth?

Just the two in there in a 55 gallon, hoping it's enough space for them for their whole lives. I keep them in brackish water, salinity around 1.010. I just plan on increasing it as they get bigger. I don't trim their teeth they do a pretty good job just by themselves. I don't dethaw their frozen foods, it seems to be enough to keep their teeth trimmed.
They're the coolest and the only fish my girlfriend actively helps me with lol she loves them. You can really get a feeling for how intelligent they are just by watching their eyes move around, very interesting fish. Puffers and triggers are the only reasons I would ever do a saltwater tank.

I have been researching various puffers on and off for years but have never bit the bullet.

It's not at all, the GSP's can tolerate freshwater while young. I put them in an already established tank and just steadily raised the salinity by just a little bit every week. All you need is a cheap hydrometer to measure the salinity and marine salt. I'm going to get a 30 gallon garbage can and use that for water changes in the future, as lately I've just been adding salt right into the tank which is probably a bad habit.
The GSP's are nice because they seem to have all the personality of bigger puffers but stay a manageable size.

I gave all the veija species I have kept cooked broccoli, cooked squashed peas,prawns pellets and tetra prima.
It's worth experimenting with different fruit and vegetables as well as the pellet staple,just add a bit of variation to their diet.

Thanks man I love them too. Sold them all though to another good hobbyist, I'm trying to stay away from super aggressive fish now, didn't really have an adequate long term tank for him anyway. I'm loving all the smaller, less aggressive central americans like the hets, crypts, thorichthys.
Same here. I am tired of managing aggression.
Also consider rainbows, and cribroheros cichlids like robertsoni, rostratum, alfari, altifrons etc..
