  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
perhaps i'll give it a try once i run out of prime.
Hello; There is a powder version of PRIME that is very much more cost effective. It is called SAFE. Same thing as Prime just in powder form.
For chlorine only there is supposed to be an even less costly option. Unfortunately I can not recall the name. Been mentioned a few times on the forum posts.

Sodium thiosulfate can be used as a dechlorinator, but I don't think it is something you can just pick up at a local store. Typically I believe you would have to order it from a chemical supply company or aquaculture supply house.

Hey there! I’m aware of its existence but since we don’t get a very large product range here in panama I’m kinda stuck with what i can get :( I do know someone who orders his stuff online tho, I should look into that too.

I imagine this wouldn’t deal with any unbound ammonia although it does sound like a pretty good option for very large tanks or ponds.

hello; Your ammonia issue should be a short term thing. The normal result of a fully "cycled" is 0 ammonia. At some point you should not have any ammonia.
After that point the chlorine in the tap water becomes the thing if you are using water directly from a tap. That is where the Sodium thiosulfate could be of use and might save some expense.
