My senegal has a lump on her anal fin. He's had it since I got him (6-8 months ago) and it doesn't seem to be causing any problems. I cannot tell with 100% certainty if it's grown, but it doesn't seem to have. I can't see any other lumps externally.

I am wondering if anyone knows exactly what this is. I'm thinking a benign tumour.

If it's in her best interest to remove it, I will do so as I am quite sure I could cut along the anal fin and remove the entirety while preserving enough fin for it to grow back. She's not going to be used for breeding, so causing issues there is not a concern. Solely interested in the best quality of life and lifespan for this gal.

Unless you can get a vet to do it then wouldn’t mess with it.

Probably a tumor since been there so long. If the fish is acting normal and eating well then wouldn’t worry.
