do you think a sump 30 gals can take on the bio load,
Also whats the best media that basically will last forever for a sump,?
Okay lava rock it is. Red shoulders are nice looking, I love the ones that have the most lines on their face like redspot, but I need just one for a black water tank, anyother recommendations?I suggested the red shoulder because they are pretty in my opinion and are supposed to be a little bit less aggressive. Personally I have kept greens and gold, did not find either to be too aggressive. But they were with large cichlids, not small community fish.
The lava rock you buy at home depot etc. they sell then for barbecues. I'd just buy a big ol' bag and use as much as you can fit in there.
its a crystal trigger dual overflow, no space to put trikle , only submergedJust remember a 30 gallon sump will not necessarily give you an extra 30 gallons of water.
If you make a wet/dry trickle portion in that sump with plastic bio-balls (best one) or lava rock. I can see it handling the load of 1 large fish plus all the other small fish, no problem.
would recommend that you take lots of pics and share when done, sounds like a nice tankOkay lava rock it is. Red shoulders are nice looking, I love the ones that have the most lines on their face like redspot, but I need just one for a black water tank, anyother recommendations?
