Your 1st real tank.

Every one at my job had fish and tanks so when a co worker asked me if i wanted some fish and a tank i said sure he gave me 2 6in pacos and 2 6in oscars. The next day i did my home work and got them a 75. 3 months later when the pacos got to 12-14in and the oscars were at 10in i got my real tank a 180 then i went and over stacked buying RD, GT, JD, then i got rid of the Pacos when they hit 16in RD killed 1 oscar then i bought a 75 for the solo Oscar then i got my $2100 FH pair.

Wow, you have my respect. Not a lot of people would actually do research on their fish and then when they find out that their fish will get too big they go out THE NEXT DAY and buy a 75 gallon and then they get a 180 after that!

I guess my first "real" tank was my 55g back about 7 years ago. Before that I had various 10,20,29g tanks at different times in my life, but getting the 4ft 55g is what got me started into the bigger tanks that would come later (my 125's and 240g etc).

It was also the first tank that really got me started in building 3d backgrounds, This one was the very first background I made. I've done probably 30 more since then but this one will always hold a special place in my mind because it's the one that started it all.

Looks cool! If I may ask, how much effort is it to make these, and it's some sort of foam? Just curious :)

They are made out of foam board insulation. I won't say they are "hard" per say, but they do take a lot of time and the carving can be a bit of a drag when doing a real big one. The 2" thick dense closed cell stuff you get at Lowes for $40 for 4x8' sheet. Then they are carved, drylok'd, painted, sealed. I did a step by step how to on them on my clubs site a couple years ago, you can check that out here if you'd like http://michigancichlid.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?topic=5946.0

My first tank was a 15 gallon goldfish tank when I was like 6, when I wanted a tank for myself I got a 30 gallon turtle tank

You had a 15 gallon at 6? I had 1 gallons at 7 :/. Lucky :p.

Before I turn 18 this year I'll be running
one 75
three 55
one 29
one 20

If I'm lucky I'll be able to set up the last two 55 gallons before this year ends then I'm stopping til I move out.
