He is out of a mixed African cichlid tank. I am guessing that one parent is a yellow lab. Second parent is anyone’s guess. I added him back to the main tank. Guessingnhe did not survive. Unfortunately I do not have any other tanks at home.

That’s a bummer. Then again if you did have another tank to put it in you’d end up like me with 3 tanks devoted to raising unplanned fry. haha

At some point I’ll get to go buy new fish to stock my tanks.
I did just pick up another tank today. I gotta try really hard not to put any babies in it.

I used to have Mexican river rocks as my primary substrate in my tank. There were tons of crevices and honestly I had too many fry surviving. I don’t sell my fish because it is a mixed tank and I can’t guarentee lines. I ended up taking the rocks out and letting the fry fend for themselves. Most don’t make it.

I caught the last of the babies out of my sump. (For now anyway, lol.) There were seven of them.
I put a couple older fry in this dish to show the size difference. The older ones are circled.

I moved their tank into my kitchen yesterday to make room for a 29g I picked up. This will just be temporary since I’ll need my counter space for the coming holidays. It will make doing daily water changes a breeze though.
Here is a crappy picture I took last night. I have since filled the tank more because the sound of the water was so loud.

I’ll be updating once I can get some good pictures of these guys! I feel pretty confident about their id now, just need pictures to confirm:)
