API Ammonia Test will provide you with total ammonia in the tank water. The 0.25ppm reading could be ammonium, which is not toxic to fish. Get the Seachem Ammonia Alert to determine if that is free ammonia.

That should be fine I used to have firwmouths with peacocks and has but I changed that tank into a fahaka puffer tank
