Went to buy some shrubs....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Honestly I'd love to have a few guineas of my own here. They make great guards for chickens too, they tend to be very ballsy for birds from what I've seen. They will gang up on venomous snakes and kill them mob style lol. Just be careful if you plan on getting chickens or pheasants as they can cross breed.

I have never heard of them cross breeding before. I don’t have solid plans on hatching chicks, but I’ll keep that in mind.
I likely won’t get chickens this year. Maybe a turkey?

My current coop isn’t big enough for all the fowl I have planned. But... our renter has retired and our new renter only wants to rent our fields not our grain bins. That will free up the bin that is about twice the size of my current coop? A bonus is that the bigger one has electricity run to it already so I won’t have any cords to mess with. It will also give us a chance to get this coop set up and ready before we get chicks.

I hope it all works out as planned. I’ve always wanted chickens?

Lol I had chickens once. Had 2 of the 6 that I loved but sadly lost most to racoons including brownie (Rhode island red hen) gladly duchess (a rescue bird) survived and got rehomed to a friend afterwards. The only chicken we ever butchered was Danny (Cornish white broiler) the only rooster and other surviver. He was a mean bird, tried to spur everyone including me. Ended up breaking a tennis racket on him before he got the clue I wasn't to be messed with lol. But duchess and brownie were such nice chickens, loved to be picked up and carried around while being pet. They'd even willingly walk upto you wanting to be picked up. I have plans on getting chickens again at some point, thinking I'll get bantams this time around since I live in town now. Wish I could have a big silo like what you got tho, I could keep allot of bantams in something that big.
