You heard of the sawfish that he paid 16k for only to have it show doa with no guarantee? He's had stuff that I've never even heard of being kept before or since lol.
The culprit was my biggest dat at the time which was twelve inches and the cod was around four inches.I had been growing it out in its own tank and wrongly thought that it had gotten big enough that the well fed dats wouldnt attempt to eat it.What were the sizes of said cod and dat?
Yep I remember reading about that. You heard of the sawfish that he paid 16k for only to have it show doa with no guarantee?
My tank,I would only be interested in eating them if they were plentiful and easily acquired here....besides I'm almost exclusively a king crab man lol.I have heard the term yabbie before but wasn't aware of the Tasmanian species.Heck,I wasn't even aware that it was cold there.

Yes we can.Jardini and leichardti have been available hear for years. The leichardti is usually more expensive and is available far less often than the jars. I have been after a lei for some time but haven't seen any around.King crab is good, I only had it once at an all you could eat buffet and disgraced myself.
The yabbies, like most things used to be plentiful and big but not so much anymore, the Tasmanian one is a saltwater cray but huge and the tastiest you will get. There's a very limited catching season for them which has worked to keep the numbers stable.
We are heading into winter here, all the southern states where I am get very cold in winter, it's very differently up north though.
Not many people keep native fish here, the lure of the exotic gets us all, a big cod in a tank full of dats would have been impressive, shame the dat was so greedy.
You guys can get the Australian arowana there , Saratoga/Jardins can't you?
