hey!

i'm setting up a new 6 feet by 2.5 feet by 2 feet 215 gallon aquarium with a 120 gallon tank as a sump. fully cycled , currenly have a oscar, pleco, and a RES turtle, 3 severums, 5 convicts . any ideas for more fish in the future?

BTW here's my aquarium channel where i will post a video scaping the tank very soon ( feel free to subscribe if you like my videos :)

A school of tetras or danios would be nice. I'm afraid the turtle may get aggressive over time (it also has to be doing a number on the bioload).

I'd add something like (but not all of them) silver dollars, giant danios, a few leporinus (granti or nijsseni) a flagtail prodchilodus, something like that to add movement.

I also agree with the idea orfditching the turtle. Not only are they big poopers and messy eaters, they really deserve a more turtle centric habitat than a aquarium full of fish.

The bioload will be a concern even in a 215 gallon aquarium. I wouldn't recommend adding anything else.

A humongous school of lemon tetras (Hyphessobrycon puchripinnis), or a smaller school of Silver tetras (Tetragonopterus argenteus) would be awesome!!

Oscars are usually large enough where they don’t care about small tetras.

i asked joey (the king of diy ) about this the other day and he told me that " Would t work with an Oscar. He’ll eat them. My arowana is over 20”. He doesn’t view them as food worth chasing. Your Oscar will. "
He is right for most oscars. Every Oscar is different though. Some will go for them some won’t. Silver dollars would make the best dithers for their size anyway.
