ok. For this matchup, I'd favor the catfish, the paradise fish does not have to weaponry to penetrate the catfish's armor and the catfish will just need to wait until the paradise fish gets close to nip a fin or otherwise immobilize the paradise fish. Realistically this is a tie because the paradise fish can't hurt the catfish and the catfish can't catch the paradise fishyou can suggest catgories i guess askKATALEKEEPER
true most catfish are pretty tanky and could prob survive a couple bites from the paradise fish
Frankly most betta/ctenopoma/gourami types don't have very good weaponry either. I've seen what a tiger barb could do to a betta and the betta really couldn't do much to protect itself, (the betta was a short tailed plakat too)
Was the betta actually able to do damage? Now I removed the betta quickly so I didn't see too much of the fight but the tiger barb was just too fast for the betta and was tearing up the tail. I think the betta got one or two bites in but they didn't really seem to phase the barb. Lesson: No barbs with bettas and keep barbs in large groups
I’ve personally watched a betta decapitate a neon tetra, so good weapons. I haven’t kept paradise or stone cat, so I can’t really speak from experience.
Idk maybe the tiger barb was just too much (a good competitor in a higher weight class perhaps?)
