Patio Pond - Mom Wants One - Potential stocking and building?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, I was talking to my dad, and he wants to go bigger, and he found a 71 gallon for $119.... https://www.lowes.com/pd/Tarter-71-Gallon-Galvanized-Steel-Stock-Tank/3159637.
I guess we may get it, and fill it with water for a month. Apparently, letting the galvanized aluminum crap out with water for a month, and the zinc is at a minimal amount. Sorry for this way then that. Also, how much would the cheapest pond liner cost? It seems to be expensive.

Hence my saying you should be cautious about adding fish in ;) . Mostly I'm worried about you using something that isn't fish safe, dumping like 20-30$ worth of fish in, them all dying, then boom, no more fish.

25.16 for a 6x12 foot pond liner. OR you could go for the 71 gallon (I recommend that one).

Lowes has plastic tubs for like $20 they hold like 20-30 gallons

Here’s how I did mine

Man for that price, I would look up the cost of those large water containers that's reinforced with a steel frame.

Oak/timber rum, whisky or wine barrel? They look great. Appleton used to "sell" them for about $6-bucks if you'd take them off the property; they'd not leak if you caught them before they dried out. Had to soak without fish or plants for a while, add guppies to remove mozzies & check for remnant booze periodically. Apologies if this has been discussed.

I have looked at them, but haven't found a single one that was a half one. I think I am going to opt to the 71. Also, my dad announced yesterday he is undecided. But he really wants to do it lol. Knowing my dad, he will say yes to us getting one. Also, I would need more plants for this one. Suggestions? Adding to my plant stock now, I can get water lettuce, maybe a creeping jenny.
