True, but I am saying selection. In general, they have rarer fish. Petsmart has better quality.
Agree with you there 100%
I’m still upset I didn’t get that 10 dollar ornate from petco.

My locl Petco recently had a good sized passer angel in stock at a decent price point. I wanted the fish, but was skeptical since I saw sick fish in the same rack. A couple days went by, and the fish was still on my mind. When I went into scoop him up...

I couldn't believe they would bring in a beautiful, pricy fish like that to cram it into a 5g display and let it die. Imo they should not be bringing in such fish unless someone is on staff that can properly care for it. Damn shame that.

One time I saw silver dollars at petsmart but idk if that's common or not
They are always there. Lucky is if a pacu or piranha gets mixed in lol.

Hello I was just wondering what is the coolest or rarest fish you have seen at your local big box store in my expeirence diffrent areas have diffrent fish at petsmart or petco
personally Its african brown knife or BGK for me
I’ve seen Fahaka puffers, which I’m not sure their staff is informed enough to sell. I’ve also seen lots of cool saltwater fish and inverts and petco, but they mostly looked to be in rough shape

The bad thing about petco saltwater is that the prices are so good for fish and inverts. Quality shows for the cheap price but sometimes it is worth it. I got some cheap leathers from there, took a while to open up but they all wound up stunning, and for less price than a half inch frag.

I’ve got some good fish and inverts there too, I just really look closely and ask to see them eat first
