Very cool fish and thread. I have contemplated getting one and had been researching the idea over the weekend. I think the reason you don't see more of these in the hobby is due to the size they get.
I have a 210 with 2 breeding pairs of vieja fenestratus in it and their juvi's. So at some point ill be selling, rehoming , or giving away a pair. I don't think I could pull off a Florida gar with a fenestratus?
Either way, I'll be watching. I'm happy to see this guy's back slowly going back towards normal.

it's salvinia minima, it looks like velcro (the hook part of it not the fuzzy bit) it's exploding in this tank.

thanks! hes doing excellent, right now he has the slightest bowing in his back back when it first happened it was almost a 90⁰ bend. I wasn't sure if he was gonna make it I'm beyond thrilled that he's made it
