Stocking ideas for a non-standard 55gallon

Setup is amazing!
Otos will be ok with the acaras, but just make sure there is enough algae for the otos. They are notoriously hard to keep alive.
I feed extra algea wafres in the evening for the oto's i have in a other tank so that shouldnt be a problem ;)
I have 12rummynose tetras that have to be moved. They are a little smaller then the oto's. Are they EBA safe to put in there? XD

I’d be careful with the rummys. A big acara can make a meal out of one.
I’d go for a tall bodied tetra.
Get a groups of juvies and wait till a pair forms, as long as the tank is cycled I don’t see why not get them yet.

Its not fully cycled yet.
It was a community tank before, but some weird illness killed half of my fish. So it had been shut down, cleaned and started from 0 about 10 days ago. Everything in there is new. And im in surgery wednesday so it definitly will be a while for new fish to get in there.
Starting with a group sounds good but what to do with the others when a pair is formed? My lfs will not take them back.

Either sell them to other hobbyists or divide them among other tanks.
Other lfs in the area may take them even if this one doesn’t.
Chances are that the ones that are paired will kill off the rest or make life miserable for them.

Fish will die trying to get an acara pair in a tank that size. If EBA gender is less important but will likely do best with just 1. If natural color blue acara a solo male. They get pretty thick early.

Is the normal blue acara bigger then the EBA?

Slightly. Not much of a difference, but you can expect an inch or two maximum size and an increase in aggression.

Update ( if your interested)
I bought 6 electric blue acara about 3-4 cm in size (1-1.5inch)
and 10 diamond tetras.
The tetras had a disease, so 2 died almost immediatly (quarantine tank)
there where about 15 rummynose tetras in the tank at that time.

You where right rummys and EBA dont match so i have 2 left. The others eaten or bullied to death (no desease detected)
Everybody else getting along just fine with the full grown diamond tetras sometimes bullying the EBA's. (the tetras are about the same size if not a little bigger)

Now about 3 months later i find 2 EBA's off in a corner together, fending off everybody else. (defending territory, not hiding in a corner)
1 with ripped fins, the other real 'possessive'.

cant really tell if they male or female, they probably are.
Should i expect eggs? what do i need to do if they breed? Just leave them in there with the other EBA's and tetras or should i remove them?
And if i need to remove eggs, what do i need to do to succeed with as much fry possible?
