A peaceful rainbow Shark and angelfish. Thats it. Can rehome them if it means I can keep the Bichir.what do you all have still in the tank?
-bichir
-climbing perch/leopard
and thats it?
Like this is what I dont get, you say Bichirs are fine then someone else doesnt Im lost again LoL its a loop I cant escapeA big part is that any individual of the group is more or less fine in the tank, it’s having all of them crammed together where the problem can rise.
its not fine. its to small. But if you wane do something that isnt so good for an animal. then at least dont get to much. Thats what he /she is saying im guessing.Like this is what I dont get, you say Bichirs are fine then someone else doesnt Im lost again LoL its a loop I cant escape
Look I get it, I want to make these guys live a happy life but Before buying I already asked on both Reddit and here and was told that it was fine. Now you are coming up to me and saying its not. Who do I believe ? You are also telling me that a RB Shark and an Angelfish cant ve housed in it. How so ? People house Angel pairs in tanks as small as 29 gallons. Who the hell do I believe in this situation ? You ? The other guy ? The videos I watched from sites like Aquarium Co-op ? Not to mention me needing to explain to my parents that we need to REHOME FISH AGAIN, which is what we just did. Also yes, I have a special place in my heart for predatory fish and eels. But honestly, after all this, Im not even sure If I want to keep going at this hobby anymore as much as I love it. Leave alone getting a new fish just to be told by someone on the internet that I cant keep it and be called an animal abuser.its not fine. its to small. But if you wane do something that isnt so good for an animal. then at least dont get to much. Thats what he /she is saying im guessing.
also dont wane be that guy but those fish you are naming both also get to big for a 80cm tank.
80cm is literally for a pair of convicts
or
a group of tetra's with some small fish.
Sorry my guy but the fish you want arent the fish you can home in that tank.
If you really want a big predator. Rehome everything and get a pao dragon puffer in that tank alone, they sleep the whole day and thats why it is possible to keep it in such a small tank relative to its size
never believe shops they just wane sell. check your info on good sites as seriouslyfish.
Even the Senegals ?Everyone is going to have different opinions on the matter.
You’re not an animal abuser, abuse would be doing this all in a 10 or 20 and not caring.
My point is that any of these fish will be okay in this size tank, but it may run into issues with the particular mix due to how messy they are.
Thanks, thats a relief, I know its on the short Side since its 80 cm but its 45 cm wide and yall too so. I cant enjoy the hobby since I got them since I constantly worry. This Friday I will be going to the LFS to rehome the Bushfish, anything else I should rehome ? What else should I get as a tankmate (thought about African Butterfly but too expensive where I live) ? Any tankmate reccomendations ? I believe you were the one that reccomended larger livebearers .Imo the sens are the best fitting due to size and relative activity.
They are quite frequently kept in 40b.
It isn’t the ideal tank size, but it is far from too small.
