Water shortage is a problem this summer in socal. I got rid of my big fish in the tank and replace it with small ones to reduce water changes. Also overhauling an old 80W UV to be installed tomorrow on a green pond to reduce cleaning.
Better build that pond quick before they ding you like they are with gas prices.

"Water shortage". Wow. I am so busy being envious of the wonderful conditions you guys down south get to enjoy with respect to your outdoor tanks and ponds...and then I am brought to a screeching halt when I hear something like that. In even our worst "droughts" we never have to worry about shortages or rationing of water up here...although it is frozen solid for much of the year...:)

Make sure you cut off those root stumps below flush with the surrounding dirt to prevent damage to the liner once it is installed.

And definitely install an underpad before putting in the liner. Either buy the commercial stuff sold for that purpose, or just get some old carpeting and use that.

It's starting to look like a hole in the ground! :)
