It was sold to me as a firemouth, I've always thought it was a Jack Dempsey. It has beautiful red eyes but I haven't been able to confirm its species. Concerned for tank mates and future issues.

To me, it looks like a baby Salvini. If you look at pics from Google your picture and those pictures look nearly identical fish-wise.

At that size, a Jack would look like this:
Yours definitely has trimac in it, but is most likely not pure. I’d agree it’s a flowerhorn, which will definitely not play nice with others.

It is not Trichromis salvini.
It’s an Amphilophus hybrid with strong resembles to trimaculatus. A flowerhorn of some description
Here is a young trimaculatus (left) to compare , middle shot is a female in trimaculatus breeding color,, right shot an adult male
Looks to me, like the OP shot is a flowerhorn/AKA hybrid/AKA mutt, which is all to common these days.

More than likely a hybrid. Mix of amphilophus Trimac.
I was worried it was a flowerhorn. Definitely not gonna work with my other fish.
