    Baby Tears w/no Co2?

The meeting is March 5, I'll know after the meeting. It's starting to fill in, I just got a couple of loose sprigs that he cut off of his carpet. They do have some "three leaf" petioles, but I think it would have more if I had more light and CO2

What to do with my 2.5 gallon tank?

Planted shrimp tanks are really awesome. That's what I would do with a 2.5, either that or a nice little betta display tank. I love teal crowntails.

    goldfish spawning?

Well, size really isn't an indicator of breeding potential. I've seen very small goldfish spawn (mind you, they were stunted, and were years old at the small size.)

    Baby Tears w/no Co2?

I don't. I was just given a couple sprigs of the stuff, but they often have it at my club auction. If he has any, I'll try to buy it from him, and I'll send you some :) It's normally much cheaper to get them from our club auctions than online or any other type of vendor.

Danger in to much Aquarium Salt?

If you have ich, you probably have nitrIte or ammonia present, and no amount of salt will fix this problem. Only clean water, and cycled biomedia will help keep your water happy. Raise the temperature to 82 and keep the water clean. The clean water itself will help the fish fight off the ich...

    Baby Tears w/no Co2?

I asked the person who gave it to me, he says Marsalia sp. But I looked on the google machine, and it looks to me more like Glossostigma. Anyway, ignore me, didn't mean to jack the thread. Perhaps one of these would be suited for your tank instead though :)

    A quick question...

Hm...small brackish fish for a 29 gallon for life. Small gobies (bumblebees for sure, not sure about size of knight gobies), perhaps? :)

    g tile wont eat

I would say it's probably nitrAtes. If you don't test for them, and rely on one java fern and one mangrove, they are probably through the roof. (For an efficient mangrove filter, you need 20-30 trees, more for larger tanks.) How is your temperature? I'd do some water changes with premixed salt...

    Baby Tears w/no Co2?

Haha! I read "over light" as "over night." My bad! Anyway, still would like to know what my plant is, lol. Thanks Jc!

    Baby Tears w/no Co2?

Wait...why would it need CO2 overnight? Don't all plants use respiration (produce CO2) overnight when there is no light for photosynthesis? I have what was given to me as dwarf clover, I'll post pictures. What is this that I have, for anyone that's savvy with plant identification/nomenclature...

    Brain Teaser, Sort of

Well, the OP wasn't very clear. Used terminology that was pretty ambiguous, so I just answered it with what I thought he was talking about. :nilly: lrn2post I guess?

    Opinions?(PufferPunk maybe?)

As for your algae, the only thing you can really do is manually remove it (I use filter floss or polyfill craft stuffing) occasionally, and keep your nitrAtes low. Good luck with the new F8's!

    Pterois Bioload, filtration question

I've done a little more research on the dwarf varieties, and have decided they are probably not going to be something I want. I've read they are more prone to staking out the bottom, and I already have three bottom dwellers, and am looking for a mid-high swimming fish as a main display. I will...

    Brain Teaser, Sort of

The few filters I have left that use the filter pad cartridges, I cut a slit in the bottom of it, and dump out all of the carbon. You can save it for later, if you ever need it (i.e. to remove medications or tannins.) I use the same filter pad cartridge, rinsing it in tank water, and banging it...

    Salinity,spec.gravity,dragon goby

I've never ordered fish by mail, but I know it's possible, and highly successful if you order from someone who has good stock and knows what they are doing. Request they only send it out on a Monday or Tuesday to prevent any over the weekend delays. The name/fish changes as your post count goes...

    Blue Gouramis

Gouramis are a common food source in some parts of the world. It's no different than eating crayfish, IMO.

Anyone ever mix fish with non-fish in the same aquarium?

I currently use my planted ten gallon tank with cherry shrimp, to incubate/hatch/rear my cory eggs/fry. It has pond snails, ramshorn snails and of course, cherry shrimp. At first I thought all the eggs were eaten by the pond snails, but yesterday, I started seeing little flicks of cory fry in...

Which one of my fish could be eating my sword plants?

It's definitely your pleco. I feed mine very well on vegetables and gel food, but they still rasp on the amazon swords. Guess they prefer living plant tissue, and since I don't have algae, they eat the swords. I had to remove all swords from tanks with BN plecos, and remove all my BN plecos from...

PP, what do you think about the cuttle bone for the puffer to teeth on?

    Salinity,spec.gravity,dragon goby

Bumblebee gobies are super cute, and will do fine with your dragon goby. They stay small too!
