    Ball python { Request }

Yeah, perhaps I missed it but where are you from? i.e. where is the snake being shipped to? There might be numerous better (and slightly cheaper) sources to getting an albino BP shipping internetionally.

    Reptiles as social creatures

The key thing about whether or not these reptiles are "social" is: outside of breeding, are they voluntarily seeking social interactions? In this thread, we've seen numerous examples of large numbers (and occasionally different species) together, but is that really being "social"? Look at it...

    Free Burmese ---- Not Mine

I only insulted those who expressed it was perfectly fine to keep reptiles illegally. On Nov 11, at 7:50pm, Reptech said... At 9:51 of the same day, I said... Yes I made a insult, but I really do not feel the need to apologize to anyone who wants to piss on this hobby that I take very...

    Free Burmese ---- Not Mine

Actually, I believe I did in my last post....i.e. the one you just quoted. I even said you were correct in your points, but I countered it with another point...which you have yet to address. Sorry, I was just making an assumption based on your maturity level. I apologize. I mean...

    Free Burmese ---- Not Mine

Yes, you are correct in saying both are crimes.....but whenever someone is caught speeding or jay-walking, it isn't over-dramatized in the media, which ostracizes anyone who walks or drives a car. You don't see headlines "Man Caught Going 5 MPH over Limit." But if someone is caught illegally...

    Free Burmese ---- Not Mine

How so, exactly? Just because the act had already been committed doesn't negate its illegality. Can't speak for everyone else, but I can proudly say I have never kept any animal illegally. As much as I hate some of these silly laws, simply breaking them isn't the answer. In fact, it makes...

Ya know...I've been kind of wanting a gila monster lately myself.

Pretty much...almost anyone with a brain will tell you that monkeys make very poor pets. Marmosets are much easier.

    finshed gator cage

Hey genius...he knows what he's doing. He already stated that he has people who will take the gator when it reaches a particular size. It's not as if he doesn't have a plan. Don't bring up old threads just to start drama.

    Planted Tank?

I sympathize for your loss, but those kind of things are like, freak accidents. I heard of a breeder once had a baby BP in one of his shoeboxes, lined with paper towels with just a water bowl....about as safe of housing as you can get, right? Somehow the baby BP tipped the bowl over himself...

    Planted Tank?

I've done it before. I'm pretty certain I didn't use native plants from their natural environment and I didn't have any issues. After all, very few people do it for their fish; why should it be a big deal for herps? I always used it for smaller snakes, as larger animals can crush/smother some...

    mattison187s petco trip* POLL*

So that makes it okay to steal? It doesn't matter what it was or how large it was. Stealing isn't the answer. If you were really concerned about the animals' welfare, yo should call the Humane Society or somethign after them.

    mattison187s petco trip* POLL*

Anyone here ever have a reptile escape before? Just because a snake escaped its cage doesn't mean it was not being cared for properly. And even if it was, its still not an excuse for thievery. There's a right way and a wrong way about these things. If you really wanted to help, you should've...

Bet you wouldn't feel that way if you had lost your wallet.

    mattison187s petco trip* POLL*

Not really. The right thing would have been to return the snake to the front desk and advise them to improve the security of their snake enclosures and explain how easy it would have been for anyone just have walked out with it...like the OP apparently did.

    mattison187s petco trip* POLL*

Stealing is stealing. If there was a $200 Fluval filter that happened to get misplaced in the restroom, this discussion wouldn't be taking place. Just because it is small enough to fit in your pocket and it was not in its proper place doesn't justify stealing it. Period. Gee...if I ever...

    Rufous-Beaked SNake

Yeah...don't quote me on it, but I would think if hoggies can fly in CA, any rear-fanged colubrids should be fine. However, I'm cannot condone or condemn that you simply assume and get one of these snakes without confirming their legality.
