Well I have some major updates!
I got my basic RO top off system set up before I left town for a week (but was too busy to post about it before I left).
Pretty simple, and I can't say enough good things about autotopoff.com!
I T'ed the supply line off my tubing coming out of the DI canister between my storage container.
Drilled a small hole in the corner of the wall (shh, don't tell my landlord) and ran it to the parts behind my tank.
I used a 1" tank bracket, and 7"x2" piece of stock plastic, which I bent to make the bracket (all ordered from autotopoff.com)to mount my float valve.
It works great! I was able to let it run a few days before I left to make sure it would operate smoothly.
I was gone for 8 days and the tank stayed full! Much better than having to top off the tank manually twice a day! I fed the fish heavily the week prior to bulk them up since I have no one to house sit while I am gone. All was well with my fish when I got home and the fish were happy as could be! The only issue I had was that my filter sock became so clogged that the pressure would build a large air bubble in the sock and when the bubble released, it would splash water out of the sump under the stand. (Next time I will remove the filter sock) I mopped up the water under the stand and the small amount on the floor and let a fan run and everything seems to be fine.
When I got home I found that one of the cerith snails that I purchased not more than two weeks before had already laid eggs.
My wife and I went cruising the LFS's on Monday...haven't had a chance to do that for a while because we have been so busy trying to get ready for our hunting trip. Well long story short, I found the fish I have been wanting!
I picked up a small (2") Yellow-eyed Kole Tang!
