112 Gallon stand and canopy

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Brilliant. Absolutely, positively brilliant. I've added your build to my "best tanks and stands i've ever seen" list.

I wish I had the time, money and ability to do something like this.

I stand and applaud your work.

I must say that canopy is awesome. I give the whole setup an A+.
Ever think about making them to sell?

Thanks, I dont think I would make enough money selling these to make it worth my time. I have been working on it in my spare time for about 2 1/2 months and Im glad its almost done.

Either way it looks awesome.
I have never been a fan of many of the canopies you see for sale cause of the way it hinders maintenace and accessibility to the tank without having to take it completely off, yours seems very easy to work with;)

That was the reason I wanted to make one instead of buy one. The top of the tank sits right about the hieght of my arm pit so I can easily reach in without needing a step stool. The canopies I saw for sale looked like it would be a hassle working on the tank, especially with an acrlic tank.

Wow! You've got some skills! I'm jealous of even the QT tank. I've seen a lot of QT tanks that just sit on the floor. The wood work looks great even on that, the show tank is amazing. That is one of the coolest canopies I've seen. Any waterproofing on the metal frame/props?

Thanks, the metal frame is just spray painted. The tank is all covered and so far hasn't had any moisture on the canopy. If I see any rust starting I might get it powdercoated but I don't think I'll need to. As for the QT tank, my wife had a storage cabinet there so if I wanted to have a second tank the stand had to have some storage space for her so this is what I came up with.
