112 Gallon stand and canopy

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Great stand... I just picked up my 135 gallon last night and have been trying to decide on a stand design. Thanks for the fine design and believe me it will be used again....

That is a awsome job. Great work. I am in texas and been waiting for cooler weather to start my 110 gal stand and this gives me some great ideas. Thanks

Amazing build. That delhezi is a looker.

How and what did you use to finish your stand??? Im building a stand right now and never finished wood before, yours look GRREAT!!

I am impressed with both the design and the quality of construction. Youve got skills. So the metal frame weighs enough that it doesnt rock back when you raise the canopy? Or is it somehow attached to the tank or stand?

First sanded the whole thing using a DA sander finishing with 220 grit. Then I used 2 coats of minwax natural stain applied with a foam brush. Then used 3 coats of minwax polyurathane semi-gloss clear applied with a foam brush sanding with 220 grit between coats. Just follow the directions on the cans.

Thanks, the metal frame just sits on top of the tank and only weighs about 10#. The hood opens about 80 degrees from the tank so its not completely straight up. That keeps some weight on the front of the frame.

Here is a couple shots under the stand before all the buckets and other stuff went in. The tank is fully planted now just have to take some more pics.
