Thank you Stanzzzz7 . I found the biotadoma cupido in my research yesterday, love that fish!! At the time was unsure if it would go with the fish I was concidering, that is a definite then, I will get those.
If I did just Uaru and biotadoma cupido. What numbres would you give for stocking.
I think I saw the Cupido on AZ Gardens website, i had never heard of them but they had some interesting fish. The Cupido were unsexed though.

After looking, yes, they are a nice fish- definitely colorful. So now I need to determine a smaller species of Geophagus to keep with them. When I looked up the Rotkiel I found them on Imperial's page, it said in the info about them that they did well with the Geo "Red Head" that stays much smaller.
They do stay a bit smaller,I can't tell you about their aggressiveness as they are one of the geos I have not kept yet so I can't give you a truly informed opinion.
A group of festivums would also work well, just as another suggestion.

When I was looking up the festivums I came across this fish: really nice fish: would these work:
Acara - Guianacara Dacrya Cichlid or Bandit Cichlid

Have you kept any other smaller Geo species that would work with this?

Most of the geos I have kept have been the larger ones.Fish like satanoperca and fish from the Altifrons group.
Have you looked at microgeophagus or Gymnogeophagus both of these would be suitable, although some of the Gymnogeophagus need cooler temps and a cool period.Have a look at the profiles for these,I think you may like them.
Another option would be some of the smaller less aggressive pike cichlids.

What If I went in another direction entirely... kept just larger Geos like the Altifrons (Ill have to look up the Satanoperca- with a prefix like "Satan" Im curious what they look like, LOL!!) with a smaller species like the Cupio and some dither species like Colombian tetras? Would my tank size be okay for this? Would a group of 5 fit?

Sorry to side step a little but have you looked at Central American eartheaters like thorichthys?
They would thrive in your water, they would do great in a decent sized group and they average 6 to 7 inches for males and about a third of the size for females.
I'm a big fan of these fish. They are colourful, entertaining will breed in a community setting without too much aggression.
Here a some thorichthys helleri I kept. These pictures are of a 4 foot tank.
