Well instead of doing a 20gal bonsai tree tank I decided to get a 125 on black Friday for around $300 (assuming they have them on sale)
It will replace my 75.. The fish I will keep from the 75:
• large eb acara
•large syno Notatus
• 5"+ Senegal bichir
• 6"+ delhezi bichir
• 2" leaf fish

What I want to add to 125
• 5 or more red head tapajos geos
• palmas bichir
• retropinnus? Bichir
• another synodontis maybe somthing more colorful.. Maybe brichardi? Suggestions?

My lfs had a tuesgla? However u spell it lol.. But Iv heard they can be a bit aggressive? thoughts?

Decor.. I'll have a thin layer of sand so maybe pool filter sand (will that be okay with the geos?)

I want plants so I have 1 large piece of Java fern attached to driftwood I'll add and 2 pieces of fairly large driftwood I'll also add but I was thinking maybe doing potted plants and line almost the whole back of the tank and cover the pots with rock work. Prob mostly use Amazon swords and Iv had luck growing them in my 55 with crappy led lighting that comes with plastic lids... But if I have to I'll use co2 and start getting into that. Maybe also throw in some shorter more colorful plants in front of the swords.

Filtration will be a fx4 and ac 110.. Fx4 has been running on my 75 for a while now and just added the 110 a few days ago

You also have to go to Petsmart early and get in line for the tank. Like an hour before it opens or whatever to make sure you can score the tank+stand at that price. Our store only had 3 of each tank (5 foot 120 and 6 foot 125) for sale...

I'll be there early and Iv nevrr had any issue with my Notatus now and I use to have 2 more and not any issue with my bichirs

Order the tank online and to pick up at whatever store is closest just in case

I have a similar question, setting up a 125 as well. Any recommendations on what fish I could put with my green severum pair?
