^ if kept in range and it is unlikely to shoot up overnight to overly toxic levels unless you are pumping in quite a lot to begin with...

Also I've mentioned it multiple threads that i have run Co2 24/7 in my planted tanks that had fish in them with no problems, same with many other people i know personally...

Just need something like a drop checker to make sure you have a visual range to know approx Co2 in the tank...

I would think it would just save co2 and not run the risk (especially on high levels of co2).

Did you not have a tank crash due to co2 overdose? Or was it something else?

Yup!!! I had an accident once before after a water change, i realized my Co2 was finished,so after replacing the bottle, and refilling the bubble counter, i pumped it up to 6BPs instead of 2, but forgot to turn it down before going out...Came back and yeah, not good but also lesson learnt...

Either way, that accident was 100% human error, and just an FYI, a 1L botte running approx 2-3BPS in my 50G will last easily a month or more even when on 24/7...

I should also add my Co2 remains around 20-30PPM round the clock regardless..

Should I expect all of the oxygen the fish need to come from the plants?

For co2 overnight or in general?

No, not enough plant mass to rely on oxygen, it also gets into the water from the air
If I run a canister with the output in the middle of the water column, will there be enough oxygen for the fish?

^ if you can break the water surface using the canister output then that will also help with oxygen exchange...
