1500 gallon pond build and recommendations on heating it?

yes i miss informed you all a little. it is a fiberglass concrete, not paint as i listed. i will have a name later when i get back at cleaning it up. this is very pricey he claimed, i think that is just so i feel bad getting it all for free but i know the hidden truth is that someone somewhere else paid for it all and he never did any more then write the check ;) anyway it was a very fine concrete based powder with tiny little hairs of fiberglass mixed in. you mixed it until it was a slurry like the point of a thick stain, then applied it two coats with a 6 inch masonry application brush. ( fancy name but cheep) now that it is dry it is noticeable that the stuff really leveled its self out a little and really filled in the wholes creating a great convincing liner i doubt any thing will get threw but its still a lot of water

Thanks for explaining matty! I understand now, i also think that was a very smart choice to use a product like that, most people just use a top coat of epoxy paint to seal concrete. Killer deal you got it for free aswell, cant beat that. Everythings lookin good aswell, dont rush it! Tanks this large take patience and time.

patience and time is right. the concrete material i painted on it was called SilPro. this is the fiber glass stuff that got the two coats of. my pool building brother in law came over today to paint it all with me and decided after not seeing it sense he left when it was around 18 inches deep, that there was a few spots that i (not being a pool builder at all) messed up a little on. thankfully i had enough crete left to mix up that he could fix everything to his professional standards. i have now to wait again until this mix dries then more SilPro and let that dry then two coats of paint. thankfully i did not officially order the 600 feeders that i was going to for this Thursday, i can cut it back to the normal two, because water will be pushed out a few extra days and worth it. while he was here he put a skim coat on all the spots that were a little messy on the outside and cleaned it up a little for me. i will take some pics tomorrow then waiting for paint!!!!
 
yes i have been running a total cost so far.
all together im over budget of 200 a little but well worth it. im closer to four hundred now. it also was a lot of hard work so far when it comes to putting it all together but will be unbelievable when done. i got it all painted with four coats of the sil pro fiberglass concrete before the one coat so far of the pool paint. this stuff goes on like glue and drys to a rubber type coating. i have to leave this coat to cure for 24 hours so i think Sunday morning i will be putting the final coat on. after that the can said to wait 7 whole days before filling it with water so another waiting game but at least everyone is happy in there tanks for another couple weeks. as soon as i fill it and it is running for a few days, im going to put 600 feeders in there for at least two to three weeks, if they can make it and levels are good i will start moving every one else. here are a few pics of the paint job as well as the finished steps in the front. also on the set is the under water lights that will throw off some heat as well as the pump for water the pump for air and the three 5 inch air discs that it will be running.

It sure does man... My problem is having to many other fish/tank projects going on at once. It is inspiring to see how quickly ur moving tho lol...nice work

Awesome build! This is very similar to what my wife and I have been talking about doing once we sell our house and buy a new one. This is definitely a build we are watching like hawks. Did you think about viewing panels when you designed this?
