2 Bettas in a 55?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
soo, like three males would be cool?
hmm, i never herad tat before. may have to try sometime.

Well just a lil update. I have 2 females and one male in the tank and so far there's no problems. In fact all three seem to stay close to each other. It's been 4 days now. We'll see how it goes.

to each their own i guess... personally to me bettas seem like possibly the most useless fish ever created... they don't really do anything unless they're fighting

So floating around and looking like this:

is nothing?!

They hit food really hard and are ultra responsive. Basically like a mini-oscar for all intents and purposes. What's not to love?

my ex landlord has 2 in his 55. male/female combo. works great. they swim with eachother and they split up. but no fighting. which is weird for me but what works for him may not work for others.

My main concern (besides being eaten) about bettas in a 55 would be them getting blown around.

Bettas with long flowing tails have a *lot* of trouble swimming in any kind of current. If you get the shorter-finned wild species, you should be fine.
