the filter flow is not hypotetical and if you search you will find that the filter flows between 550-630 GPH. So advertising a 600 GPH filter flow rate is more accurate than the 925 GPH pump flow rate that will NEVER be reached while the pump is on a canister.

Look at the Eheim 2262. They used there 2262 pump that flows 900 GPH. They stuck it on a canister and they claim their canister filters at 900 GPH. BS!. People have tested their 2262 lowers than 600 GPH.

People buy them because they are all excited that they have a filter claiming to move 900 GPH but they get upset when they find out it only moves 600 GPH. Which would YOU rather prefer you read on a box filter specs?

Yes and there are more factors than that. Guess what, from OEM ribbed tubing, basket design and dual output nozzel used, which I had a measure 600 GPH, to vinyl tubing, large single output and no baskets, the filter still only pushes 600 GPH.

You will should not see a huge variance in flow from the "filter flow" specs. On the other hand when you buy a filter because it says it flows 925 GPH when it really flows 325 GPH LESS!!!!!! Filter flow may vary from 0-100 GPH. Which do you think is more accurate?

Who knows if this is even the correct flow. I mean, come on, 925 GPH down to 600 GPH? They screwed up some where.

Obviously you believe in scamming people in to buying a product that you say can do "this" when it ACTUALLY does "this".

That's going a bit off right there. Way more variables take place. Tires, suspension, trans gears, diff ratio, flywheel weight, auto weight, persons weight, just to name a few.

And what is the difference when there is a 10" gap vs 2"? So 10" gap from the water's surface to the pipe vs 2" gap? Even if the water was not below the end of the pipe, the more area there is for the water to move through an opening, the more water that can move through it at one time.

Will you argue that a 6" pipe will be to small too?
The only 2262 we got flow tested in my thread was HarleyK using restrictive floss and all kinds of water polishing media which he stated would be more restrictive than the OEM stuff . Unless your siting another example please link me if so. No one was able to ever get me results on the 2262 flow (Besides HarleyK's custom setup) in a 8 page thread lol

Any good internal filters you lot would recomend ?

i only every use them on my tiny tanks , using mostly the Fluval Plus 3 or 4 , but is the any better ones which i could use on this tank , i am finding it very had to find a decent HOB filter ATM .

Why is it so hard to find... I am just asking no ill intentions. Dr fosters had my ac110 for 70 when I got my last one.

As for good internal filters which I only use on my planted tanks so far... I use the hagen fluval 4 plus.... But if you get one of those you could just about get an ac110

Its cos' i live in England and DrFosters is a US based Site and i dont know if they would ship to England and if they did it would cost quite abit .

the actual flow rate of the filter varies considerably and is therefore hypothetical...
Varies considerably? They make you believe the filter can flow 925 GPH, ask most members here, and it really flows 600 GPH. In the manual it says 604 GPH for a filter flow rate and I would say most of the tests prove that the filter flow rate is between 550-600 GPH in fact I would say 90% of them are in the 600 GPH figure.

I know the pump figure is a more accurate tested number but I and MANY OTHERS don't care about that number because its NOT THE ACTUAL FLOW of the filter so why try to lead potential buyers to believe the Fx5 flows 925 GPH? Thats all I am saying. you can't even remove the pump to use it for something else without it being on the canisters housing so giving pump figures is just useless.

If they said in big bold numbers, 600 GPH, that would be a more accurate ACTUAL flow number than the pump number, you got it now? If not, got work for Hagen's sales team because they will love you.

There was one other person too, I'll try to find it. The 2262 will not flow 900 GPH, not even close without the filter floss.

They are US based sellers but claim to ship world wide. I have no clue how expensive shipping to you would be though…

I’ve heard of people from your side of the pond using them so thee has to be a way. Hopefully someone from over your way will read this thread and chime in with some help…

Jgray, since you’ve reduced yourself to rudeness in feeble attempts to make your argument appear to have more value, I’m done with the debate… reread my previous posts to understand my point…
