240 Gallon Build thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here comes the bad news of the build :(

I believe the fx6 motor is burned out, or stuck? Can get it to work.

So what I have decided to do is sell it off and run the two aquatops on one side of the tank and have a sump on the other side

Well I feel like an idiot right now. Took the motor apart cleaned it out and now it works fine. I will still be doing the sump and 2 canisters as it will save me $160+ in the build

Well stand is almost done. Just need to wrap it in plywood and add finishing.

Stand height is 34"

Total cost for stand so far.. $70 cad

Also looking for suggestions for some top water "monster fish, could be schooling or non schooling

If you really want to grow out a ray I would avoid aggressive feeders like pictus. They make it hard for young rays to eat. I prefer geos. Tapajo are small and usually easy to find.

Not really a fan of cichlids, but I may give them a chance.

Would FeatherFin catfish work? Or too aggressive feeders?

I'm the wrong guy to ask regarding catfish. I just know a bit about pictus. Larger rafaels may work too if you can manage to find one.
