24k crossback mating dance has started again!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for the info, not heard of anyone successfully doing this outside of Asia until your reply, gives me hope that we can do it. Both mine are full golden cross backs, real beauties. I’ll keep this post updated.

I didn't know of anyone either... and then all of a sudden met a Swiss guy (an older guy, he's been an Arowana "lover" for 20+ years and tried to breed them for half of that), that I sold a Black Diamond stingray to. I might find a pic or two of his pair.

Here is his pair. 2nd pic is one he literally sent me 2 weeks ago, where the male was holding a new batch of eggs in his mouth.

Are you still in contact with him? Would you ask him if he wouldn’t mind you giving me his email address, as would be good to know the conditions his ones are in once the male is mouth brooding as would love to crack this, would be nice to know if my conditions are right
Here’s mine with mouthful of eggs

Sent you a PM.

Cracking fish! They are beautiful. It’s mad how they are still mating around the same time as the ones in Asia, in ponds yet they are still in sync.

Hmm, so are the ones in Asia only breeding during specific times? Didn't know that though. I know he's had a batch a few months ago (my friend bought one of these, it's now 8¨) and now another one that is in the making.

Now that I've checked your posts, yours had eggs in June. I think the young ones form his last batch were about 4.5-5¨ in July. So could have been around the same time.
