  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ok that's cool is there any bichirs i can't have ? sorry for asking so much but its hard to trust stuff lol

We’re happy to help answer questions so that we can save you from a lot of headaches if things were to come crashing down if you didnt...

Better to have the right stock at the beginning then have to rehome monsters later...

Also with 300G you should be able to get away with smaller ray species if you are up for a challenge...

I agree with all others here. There is alot of nice central and southamerican cichlids you could keep for a lifetime in a 300g tank. And as fat homer stated there is some smaller rays if your up for a great challenge. Keeping rays is the most giving part of the hobby IMO. I bought my first ray december 2017 and now i have 4 rays and planning on buying a nice hybrid from duketown stingrays later this year.

What kind of rays ?

That i have or that is smaller species? I habe three different hybrids and one pure motoro.

The smaller species i can think of right now is potamotrygon hystrix/wallacei, potamotrygon magdalenae and potamotrygon scobina where scobina is the biggest species of those three. The all grow to between 30 and 50cm wd.

The dimensions you gave are 330 gallons so around 1260 litres. (sry im European) So I wouldnt recommend to keep the bigger rays. Hystrix might work. But its expensive and hard to get,( at least here, it is ) smaller species of Bichirs. There is a lot thats possible in such a tank.

You could easily keep lower jaw specie of Bichir in a 280-300 gallon. J jaws7777 .
Thanks for the tag T

@christian3

There is a wide range of fish you could keep. Like the guys have said "what do you like" ?

Crappy question for an mfker since we want it all lol but i would start with do you want a solo aggressive wet pet or a community type of setting with multiple fish.

You can definitely keep a group of bichirs in this tank. They do better in groups so take that into consideration. Also when your close to making your decision you should post in the species specific section. Not all fish are cookie cutter and us members have different opinions on care. Whats considered overstocking to one member may be necessary or better for the species you choose
