what about a fire eel and I was also wondering what type of catfish I could have also gar

Definitely do a fire eel or two, or three. Lol.

They are very personable fish and truly become puppy-dog-like. They can grow to 40” but most top out between 30-36”. I have three right now. I got my first two together and they were only about 4” when I got them. Now, they are pushing 26-27”. They are a very rewarding fish to keep.

Bichirs are also a lot of fun if you want to go with a few of them. I prefer the lower jaws and I don’t think any of them get to big to outgrow that tank.

Ive been meaning to ask you about them. Any special requirements besides a tight lid ? How do they get along with your endli ? Eat the same foods as polys ? Shy or active ?
Lol i think thats about it.

Gars are very rigid fish so they need a good deal of space to avoid bumping into the sides of an aquarium and injuring themselves. Shortnose gar i believe is the smallest one you can get so thats the one that would probably work best. You could also put pickerel in there as well.

can a fahaka puffer be with fish like gar or cichlids
also can peacock bass fit in this tank size

Fahakas tend to be very aggressive against other fish when they get bigger. They are imo best kept alone as a wetpet.

Dont know the dimensions of the tank you have in mind in cm but to me it sounds you should be able to keep florida gars for a long time in that tank. They tend to grow fast up to 30-35cm then slows down and grows really slow. Got a friend who has a group of 6 or 7 floridagars, they are at least 5-6 years old and not much bigger then 55cm tops but thick as my arms. They arnt that active of swimmers. Think of polys like sausages on the bottom and gars as sausages in the top water column. But thats just my opinion and im an ray and cichla addict.
