300 gallon saltwater aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes stick with that list but keep I on Picasso for aggressive behavior. Also note the Triggerfish, Grouper, and Snowflake Moray will have to be large enough so that the Lionfish can't swallow them.
I was thinking about getting a dwarf lion fish. On liveaquaria they have a fuzzy dwarf lion fish that only gets 7 inches

Probably. I would only suggest that a lot of those fish tend to be hard to keep alive for beginners to saltwater. If you are interested in marine it’s great to try a nano with a clown pair just to learn the basics of marine tanks.
Your tank sounds like my saltwater dream tank though! Just add a shark lol!

Don’t worry, I’m never gonna get this tank until I’m older. I’m only thirteen. I’m gonna have a lot of practice until I can get a big tank like that. All I have now is a 55 gallon angel tank(freshwater angel) and a 10 gallon planted tank.

If you decide to do a Catshark please don't add Triggerfish they will go for the shark eyes.
This personally happened to a Bamboo Shark I kept temporarily with a Picasso Triggerfish.
I think I remember you saying that a while back. I’ll keep that in mind for whenever I can set up the tank! No triggers for me.

Fuzzy and zebra are good. Both are small guys. Only issue is that they may be small enough to be the object of aggression. Volitan would be fine once everyone is full grown.

I absolutely agree about the Volitan.

I have an emporer, picasso, niger, narrowline puffer, harlequin tusk, chainlink moray, scopas tang, & a few others I'm forgetting. A fuzzy lion will get ripped apart if it doesn't starve to death while you try to get it to eat first.

Lionfish are predators, but very very timid. You'll have to decide between it or aggressive fish. A volitan or russels are about the only ones that really do well for the average person. My triggers & puffer shaved a big urchin so a lionfish would die a horrible death.

Humu/picasso triggers are pretty mild on average, but don't take any crap. Your killers in the trigger world are undulates, queens, clowns, bluelines, & pineapples.

All depends on purchase size too. Groupers can eat a small lion, lion can eat a small grouper. Lion being the wild card should usually be last though.

Why does saltwater have to be so confusing to. This is a filter system for a high-tech reef system. I found this in one of my aquarium booksimage.jpgimage.jpg
