My valves are schedule 40.
Im pretty sure mine are 80 (ball valves) i dont see it being a big deal gor the gate since he's going to be restricting flow to maintain siphon

Mine are KBI. Spears brand are also well known quality brand, but don't overthink it. Go with whatever you like.

Not the greatest shots, but just to give you an idea of the ATO. Straight forward but let me know if you have questions.

Big problem here. Both came in a DCS-12000 box but only one says DCS-12000 on it. I cant even tell if its mislabeled or if they are both something else trying to be passed off for what i bought. Purchase them on amazon
I've seen this comment several times when researching the Jebao pumps. For some reason, some of the pumps get put in the wrong boxes. I would say you probably got a 9000 pump in a 12000 box. Definitely frustrating but in all the cases I saw where this happened, everyone got it straightened out and got new pumps that were the correct ones. It probably has to do with all of the pumps being basically the same size. Pretty easy to get them mixed up at the factory then and put them in the wrong box.

Sump looks nice and clean. But I have seen those spears brand somewhere. Will take a look. Do you remember where you got the gate? And I see what you did with the ATO. Looks like 5gallons?

Frustrating for sure. Would be helpful if they were different sizes for easier identification like you said. I sent an email to the Amazon seller yesterday so I would expect a response either tomorrow or Tuesday latest.

Many use Spears, but they can be relatively pricey. I cannot remember where I got my KBI. I want to say from my builder. Amazon also has Spears but only seen in schedule 80, but I know they also make 40 if that matters. There are other brands on Amazon...made in usa as well if you care and is around $23.

Yes 5 gallon, ATO pump sits inside with tube from pump to return pump chamber where the "Optical Eye" is attached no parts to get stuck.

Perfect thanks. Did you know how much clearance you had under your tank from your sump yesterday? Forgot to ask

10 1/2 inches clearance. That's been plenty for me. Keep in mind, I set mine up so I wouldn't have to be under there very often. All I've ever done in 2 years now is change 4 filter socks every 2-4 weeks. One time, I drained and vacuumed the whole thing to get 20 Midas fry out of it, and I had plenty of head room under the stand to do that, too.

I have no plants growing under my stand, no chambers in my sump, no K1 and air pumps to change/aim/adust. I have a powerhead in the sump that keeps it all flowing, so there's nothing on the bottom of it to vacuum out--I don't clean it ever. So your needs may vary if you do more things in your sump than I do which most people do.
