330 gallon setup and sump build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nope, that glue is permanent I'm afraid. What I meant was if you trace back you have a nearby UNION I see. You could replace half of the union and re-do you plumbing back down to the outlet to sox - this time without gluing the barb, or just ad a PVC piece. You'll want to do the other end too.

IMO, it's a reasonable and not like you're redoing everything.

Thats eclxactly what happened to me. Im not sure my fear of putting too much strain on the bulkhead or plumbing from the height difference was only in my head but i chose to re do.

On a side definitly pick up the novus cleaner got it off amazon. It was the package deal that came with novus 1,2, and 3. We had a barbeque yesterday and it rained for an hour or so. The kids ended up in the basement - tank is in the basement = bad news.

Found a 6 or 7 inch scuff mark. Novus 2 then 1 took care of it.

I resurfaced an entire 96x30x24. The last steps were the novus 123 lot of work on a very old misused acrylic tank still had a few gouges on top that weren't coming out. I shoulda kept that tank..... It was spectacular when I finished it. The novus made it all come together.

I might try and let it slide. I will see tonight when I fill if there are any leaks. Fingers crossed. But thats a good Idea I will make sure I pick some up. Ive kept all the wrapping around the outside of the tank just as precaution until I move the tank back against the wall. I can only imagine your reaction when you saw those scuffs!

Looks like ill be calling you if I ever have a problem! lol

Let me say this my arms and in particular my elbows hurt for weeks after.....
Don't think I'll be doing it again unless the price is right. That tank was free.

Side note... I am trying to figure out lighting for this tank. I made a post in the general section but figured I would ask you guys as well. I think I am leaning towards LED floodlights to save a few dollars plus I do like the look. I am worried about having them rest on the top of the tank since acrylic and heat do not mix. I would have to raise them up a little bit so i thought of making some sort of bar that goes above the tank that would rest on top to support the lights but just dont want it to look like crap. Any ideas?

Ok a keg of the good stuff!
For the lights do you have a certain bulb in mind? Most of them emit heat from the top not where the lights are.....with that said I'd still lift it off the surface. I did the same thing I had 4 par 38 reef spot lights left over from my previous life. 1 was bad I mixed them with 5500k bulbs from lowes. So 3 and 3, unhappy with the 5500ks. I mounted them in my canopy I could take a pic and post it here or my thread if you want to see it. I think you could do an easy cool looking set up like mine in a stand form.

I can't see your thread on my phone, do you mind sending a few pics? I still want the finnex planted 24/7 lights but they are just expensive and don't know if I want to spend the money at the moment. I'll probably end up with them if I don't like a flood light setup. The hard part about the flood lights not being on the top of the tank is accessing the tops of the tank with them in the way and not being able to move them
