why don't you take a look at those big rubbermaid stock tanks they sell at feed stores for horses and livestock. They're big black fiberglass water troughs.

May not be much cheaper than a used tank, but it's new, easy to find, and almost no chance it'll leak on you.
Another idea is to get a used fish tank, and reseal it. I think most of the worry of a used tank leaking is that they often have sat up with no water in them and the silicon seal dries out. If you reseal it yourself, you'd know it's good?
Or just dry a new glass tank for a sump. A 125 gallon tank with no stand is pretty cheap.

take a look at this. it would work with the size I need

I would rather use the rubbermaid like ragin posted but I dont think its going to fit since its going to be to wide. I thought the other one would be interesting just have no experience with it and its the first ive seenIve never used one so really can comment. I wouldnt be opposed to using something like ragin posted if you could find one that fits
Thats what I am thinking. I need to find one cheap enough though. Plus if I look used everyone on craigslist has got their 55 gallon setups listed for $800. Gotta find the right oneIf the Rubbermaid doesn't work out, I'm with rajun on getting a 125. It will fit very nicely under your tank and give you lots of room for your filtration.
