48 Foot Fishing Rod!!!!

actually you guys gotta be a little more open minded =) I used that kind of poles when I lived in Europe and competed. It's great for competition fishing, no reel no problems with having the line all over the reel all messed up and you have a great "feel" with that elastic rod ! I realize that it may seem dumb to you guys, but try to look at it a bit differently =] everything has it's purpose of course you ain't gonna use it for anything big - but for competitions where they weight your catch after the time is over it's the best thing to use. His is a bit too much though lol 48feet that is what ... 15 meters ? The longest I owned was 8 meters and it was perfect for the body of water I was fishing at !

oh to clear something up - it's better because it's easier to catch 100- 200 of small(er) fish and after the day of competing those little fish make a good weight ! rather than choosing a strong reeled rod, big line, huge hook and a bait size of a potato and hoping that you gonna catch a monster ... odds are you're better off catching those little fish if you wanna win ! =)

okay , a 7 foot spinning rod, 8 pound test and a slipcork rig with a 2 or 4 pound test leader. and a little bit of practive casting and i could do the same thing. But why ???
There's bass in kentucky right?

You wouldn't - it would take you more time to reel them ... =]

I have seen this before in books but thought it would be a little tedious. But whatever no need to make fun of a guy who wants to fish like that. The guy who fly fished first for sharks must have gotten the same crap, this guy is getting.

i prefure 16' cane poles for crappies...if they are finiky and the booze is flowin...otherwise it is the fly rod or a ultralight and a small tube jig never fails...
