55 plant light

I use a Current Satellite Plus LED lamp for my current setup. Works pretty well and isn't absurdly priced.

The tank came with 2 cheap plastic lids with led strips on inside, they do okay but I can't imagine they'd grow plants and I'd rather not spend money on plants to have them die
I personally wouldn't trust those leds either, and if you are willing to spend $200 led grow lights are the way to go. Here is an article I found useful while I was researching my lights:

Anyway, the best you can get is 3 part led grow light aka a RGB or something like that. However, any high kelvin florescent should be fine. If you want to buy an led, regular plant grow lights should be just as good (no experience, just logic) and are available cheap on ebay. The only thing is that the grow lights tend to be weird colors (look at them) and IMO florescents look better. You can also do a grow light and a viewing light for the best of both worlds.
By the way, I feel that since I switched from 5500k to 6000k, my tank has been looking a little washed out, but I hope it'll be better once the plants grow in.
